Frequently Asked Questions About Our Redlands Chiropractic Office
What does a chiropractor treat?
Chiropractors focus on the muscles, joints, and nerves of the body. At our Redlands office we commonly treat neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches, sports injuries, auto accident injuries, and more. You can see a full list on our Conditions page.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in Redlands?
Most patients do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. Some insurance plans and the VA Community Care Network do require one. Veterans can learn more on our We Treat Veterans page.
What happens at my first chiropractic visit?
Your first visit includes a health history and a hands-on examination. X-rays may be taken if your condition calls for them. Dr. Humphries will then explain his findings and recommend a treatment plan. Read more on our What to Expect page.
Are chiropractic adjustments safe?
Chiropractic adjustments are considered a safe, conservative treatment when performed by a licensed chiropractor. Before any treatment, we review your health history and exam findings to make sure care is appropriate for you.
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Most patients feel little to no discomfort during an adjustment. Some people notice mild soreness for a day or so afterward, similar to how you might feel after a workout.
How many chiropractic visits will I need?
The number of visits depends on your condition, how long you have had it, and how your body responds to care. Short-term injuries often improve in a few visits, while chronic problems may need a longer plan. Your progress is reviewed regularly so your plan can be adjusted.
Can a chiropractor help after a car accident?
Yes. Whiplash and other soft tissue injuries are common after car accidents, and symptoms may not appear for days or even weeks. Our auto accident injury care helps restore motion and reduce pain.
Do you treat sports injuries?
Yes. Sports injury care is a core part of our practice. We treat sprains, strains, tendonitis, knee pain, shoulder pain, and more for athletes and weekend warriors alike. Learn more about our sports injury treatment.
What other therapies do you offer besides adjustments?
In addition to chiropractic adjustments, we offer massage therapy, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, physical therapy modalities, home exercises, supports, and lifestyle advice. See all of our chiropractic services.
What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy, also called extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), uses acoustic waves to stimulate tissue repair and reduce pain. It is often used for plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and other stubborn soft tissue problems.
Can a chiropractor help with headaches and migraines?
Many headaches come from tight neck muscles, locked-up neck joints, or jaw (TMJ) problems. Chiropractic care can often help with these types of headaches and may reduce some migraine triggers. Visit our headache treatment page to learn more.
Does your office treat fibromyalgia?
Yes. Dr. Humphries has spent years researching fibromyalgia and has written a book on the subject. Learn about his approach on our fibromyalgia page.
Do you treat veterans?
Yes. Our office participates in the Community Care Network for Veterans. Your first referral must come from your VA doctor, and our office handles follow-up referrals.
Where can I find new patient forms?
You can download and print our new patient forms on our Online Forms page. Filling them out ahead of time helps your first visit go faster.
Do you offer any specials?
We offer specials from time to time. Check our Specials page for current offers and expiration dates.
